Without wanting to offend Modcloth or the designer behind this interesting (!) piece, I must have ordered it after downing 1,27362666 tequila shots, because how else can I explain the fact that I bought a frock COVERED in twirling, swirling ballerinas?! The mind boggles! (My reaction upon seeing it for the first time wasn't too disimilar from the title of this post, let me tell YOU!)
Okay, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that with an item name such as 'Leaps and Bounds', I would've had an inkling that there'd be pirouettes involved. Or that with a product description which CLEARLY reads ''as you slip into this retro, ballerina-adorned frock...''', I'd know what to expect in my mailbox. But, somehow I missed all of this entirely. S-M-R-T!
My boyfriend's facial expression when he realised that I was sporting this today was PRICELESS. Equal parts ''ha! There she goes again, horsing around as usual...'' and ''oh crap, I think she's being serious. No, she's can't be... but she's not taking it off. Wait... this IS actually what she's wearing!'', he eventually offered ''so... that's a dress that's been sitting on the table all week? I thought it was a pair of pyjamas!'', and off we went!
What I'm Wearing:
x Modcloth's 'Leaps and Bounds' dress (cringe. How is it even possible that I didn't realise what this was?!) and belt
x Fendi's 'FS350R' sunglasses, a kind gift (thank-you!) from Mister Spex UK
x Lovisa earrings
x Boots from Shoe Connection, New Zealand
x An oversized cardigan (my favourite!) from Target
x An el cheapo handbag from Venice, Italy
Behold, THE BALLERINAS! I really, really can't get over the weirdness of this print. I don't know what I should do with it! (Donate it to charity? Continue skulking around in it even though I'm 110% not a ballerina kind of girl?! I don't know!)
Hot chips for lunch! Hooray!
♥
Have YOU ever purchased anything which looked substantially different in person than to what it did online? (In my case, the dress is a perfect representation of what's listed on the website, I'm just a twit who obviously buys things with her eyes closed!)
