Unnecessary? Oversized? Over-the-top? Pft! I love Auckland's Sky Tower, and on Tuesday morning, that's exactly where my mother, sister and I headed! (And besides, what's wrong with ''over-the-top'', anyway?!)
What I'm Wearing:
x Strapless floral dress, Target (Look! It's the same one that I wore in December to meet Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater! How about that!)
x Red and gold bow belt
x Black short-sleeved cardigan and stockings
x Hot pink Dr. Martens boots (I love these to bits! They're so comfortable, and when you can wear an item that prompts questions from even eighty year-old men, you just know that you're onto something special!)
x Tiffany & Co heart bracelet
x Sparkly skull bag (I can't take it off.. or at least, that's my excuse for wearing it all the time!)

Upon looking back through these photos, I decided that the above image would have been that much more interesting/ridiculous if I'd placed my hands back against the glass in a dramatic fashion and pretended to be falling backwards. Next time!

The view from inside the top of the building.. can you believe that there were actually all these little kids beside me on the next glass pane jumping up and down on it and screaming ''break, break!'' ? Brave! (Or, you know.. STUPID!)

Clowning around with my sister.. it's what we do best! (Seriously, as much as my mother swore blind that she loved having us together and with her all the time in New Zealand, not-so-secretly, I think she's relieved that I'm back in Australia and the incessant cackling, shrieking, giggling and general noise that's inevitable when my sister and I are together has been temporarily silenced!)

After departing the tower, we strolled around Queen Street and the rest of downtown Auckland (while exclaiming ''down-TOWN!'' in a very Petula Clark fashion whenever our mother mentioned that very word - see? THIS is why she often walks a metre ahead of us and acts as though she doesn't know who we are in public!) before settling down for ENORMOUS plates of fish and chips and wedges at The Occidental Belgian Beer Cafe in Vulcan Lane. (And when I say enormous, I truly mean ENORMOUS. Not only were these plates bigger than our heads, but the meals actually defeated us, too, which is NOT an easy task!)

Is it too early to start planning a return trip back there?!
