Eek! Colour me beetroot-red with shame!
Forgive me for (very naughtily!) being a day late!
Presenting, belatedly, my favourite things from the week that was!
x Long Conversations About Business - I KNOW. Nerd alert! But jeez, it fascinates me so! I keep meeting and stumbling across extraordinarily interesting people who own/are in the process of developing their own businesses, and embarrassingly, I'm completely that annoying person who sits there and asks 1,27637366525568 questions: ''HOW did you create your own business? WHY did you create your business? What are you DOING with your business? Why are dinosaurs supposedly GREEN?!'' (Okay, thankfully I don't actually enquire about the latter!)
Is it slightly ridiculous? Probably! But I'm eternally curious about what makes people tick and I just find it so phenomenally intriguing to hear about and explore the tales of people who leave comfortable or more traditional careers to carve their own creative paths! And on THAT note..
x Developing Resolutions For 2011 - Which namely involve flinging myself out there and meeting more outstanding people, experiencing as much enjoyment as humanly possible (as previously mentioned!), and generally transforming those ''huh. Well that could be fun!'' thoughts into action - that monthly coffee meet-up/congregation with local business owners a couple of suburbs away that I constantly see being mentioned in newspapers and frequently think ''I really ought to go'' about?! I'm going! Those fantastic Sydney-based people I communicate with online and have often thought would be fabulous to meet?! I'm meeting them! 2011 is going to be a big, TREMENDOUS year. I can feel it!
x Returning To Old-School Methods Of Writing - Because honestly, as splendidly as my little Macbook serves me, nothing beats nutting out an idea using a thick wad of paper and a pen. It's electricity efficient! It's productivity effective! (No more losing hours and hours to its sneaky wee sidekick, the internet, which is practically a virtual playground for procrastination!) Sometimes simplicity truly IS best!
x Other Little Things - Listening to the rain (and the award for the craziest summer goes to.. Sydney! Seriously! Ludicrously warm! Freezing cold! Frequent rain! AND IN A SINGLE DAY! What is going ON, weather?!); sushi dates at World Square with insanely large platters of food; kitchen experiments which DON'T result in several small fires (win!); sweet potato pie; e-mails to and from my sister; piles and piles of crystals; Goldfrapp; afternoon barbecue fun in the sun (ooh! Poetry!); taking in the 2011 fireworks on Collaroy Beach; the weirdness that is Black Swan (!); pink champagne; nail polishes in a slew of glittery hues; cheap, sparkly jewellery; and this wonderful loot, which (shock! #$^@!) arrived in my mail box courtesy of the ultra sweet Zoe Collins of To The Glamour Born/Dolly magazine (she was formerly their Beauty Editor!) fame! (A HUGE thank-you, Zoe!):

♥
Happy, happy Friday! (Uh, SATURDAY!) How was your week?
xoxo
