My week has been quieter than a mouse (an assiduous, pushy little mouse!), but hey - you're never too busy to savour the finest moments from the past seven days or the glorious arrival of the weekend, I say!
Here's what I'm currently adoring:
x Preparing For Europe - Do you know what today is?! Oh, foolish me. Of course you do, because I already told you! Sure, it's a Friday, but today also serves as a gigantic reminder that in exactly eight weeks, I will be departing for London! Terrifying! (Yes, slightly terrifying. Weird question: do you ever find yourself feeling extremely nervous before an otherwise exciting event? I always do!) We'll be stopping over in Dubai before heading to the land of double decker buses and The London Eye and then making our way through six countries, and right now is (lamely?!) all about preparing for that. Purchasing thermals? Check! Camera memory cards? Check! Thinking about things like currency? It's all a little bit confusing, but check!
x $10 Vintage Treasures - Would you look at this dress?! I mean, just LOOK at it! The lace! The SEQUINS! The fact that it was only $10! The label informs me that it was made in Paris and it is undoubtedly my new favourite purchase. Also endearing is the handwritten 'vodka 72' tag inside of it; I have absolutely know idea what that means, but it sounds like a philosophy that I can totally get behind!
x Surprises In The Sky - When was the last time that you spied a rainbow? For me, it had been MONTHS!
x Other Little Things - Patterened stockings; vegetarian chicken-style nuggets (truly! Such a product DOES exist, and they're delicious! It's also likely that I've mentioned this before, but they ARE!); continually being impressed/flabbergasted by my boyfriend's handiwork; having a freshly painted bathroom; attempting to educate myself about various products and their ingredients (okay, so this did result in spending twenty minutes in the hand soap section of the supermarket the other night, but I don't care! It was INTERESTING!); and Crunchie flavoured chocolate rocks!
x Scour YouTube for music or ask your friends for listening material recommendations based on what their ears are presently being seduced by and attempt to listen to a genre of music that you would usually wrinkle your nose up at. You could discover something new and brilliant to devour and at the very least, mind (ear?!) expansion is FUN!
x Look to the season ahead and begin devising a list of all of the excellent activities that you'd like to complete: summer barbecues? Beach volleyball? A winter cooking class? A spring garden tutorial? What?!
