It's Friday! ♥
November 6, 2009

What's mega exciting and ultra synonymous with FUN? A super long dentist appointment, that's what! Whoops. That's not it. That's not it at ALL. (Gosh, who WRITES this stuff?) Why, the fact that it's the end of the week, of course! And that even if you accidentally did that annoying stab-your-mascara-wand-in-the-eye thing, locked your keys inside your car or missed your favourite TV show, there was still a liberal sprinkling of sparkly moments and a smattering of treasures in which to revel in.. and hey, if you're STILL not convinced that there was? It's Saturday tomorrow! Saturday! Whee! Does it get much better than that?!

x Melbourne Cup 2009 Small Winnings - Important disclaimer: I don't gamble! This is largely due to the fact that I am thriftier than an army of Sydney's Thrifty vans, but also, that I have absolutely no comprehension of anything poker machine/betting related in the slightest. But on Monday, as my boss bowled over to me and said ''would you like to throw in $2 for the Melbourne Cup sweep?'' (Fun education session for non-Australians: The Melbourne Cup is Australia's major Thoroughbred horse race. It's billed as ''the race that stops a nation!'', and is a race for three-year-olds and over, over a distance of 3,200 metres), I answered, ''sure!'' .. and then proceeded to make a plethora of bad jokes when the names of the horses were later drawn from a hat and presented to us, and I saw that I'd received one named 'Crime Scene'. Well! Crime Scene, allow me to eat my words about you possibly coming last/being disqualified, because you came 2nd, and earned me $10! (Which I have since put towards the value of an upcoming Frock & Roll giveaway.. stay tuned!) Ah.. silly, silly fun.

x Blogging Awards - Aw. This week, I received two lovely blogging awards from two exceptional ladies, Tina of 5ft0, and Alex of Shut Up, Vita (who is actually one of my friends in real life, and is an awesome, AWESOME girl!)! They've both asked me to answer a quick questionnaire, so here we go! :

1. Where is your cell phone: Ooh. Good question! Either buried in the depths of my handbag, or in the middle of my bed. I have been known to lose it in the house on a regular basis and then spend the afternoon hurriedly searching for and calling it off another phone, only to realise that of course, it's on SILENT! D'oh.
2. Your hair: Brown, curly and probably in need of a darn good cut.
3. Your mother: Has a legitimate excuse to wear a tiara 24/7, because her name IS Tiara!
4. Your father: Likes books, dogs and has a serious penchant for Ebay and Law & Order.
5. Your favourite food: Pizza! And some kind of dessert. And vegetarian burgers! And my boyfriend's walnut pesto wholeweat spaghetti. And.. oh, who am I kidding? I have heaps
6. Your dream from last night: How do people manage to remember theirs?! I am IMPRESSED. I never, ever remember mine!
7. Your favourite drink: Pepsi Max. I am a caffiene fiend.
8. Your dream/goal: Oh, so many! To continue travelling, exploring what makes me happy, renovate our new home, write a novel, volunteer at charities, make a difference in people's lives (even if it's just the person whom I buy a bus ticket from every week!), try new things.. I could go on forever! (But I won't. Because that would be b-o-r-i-n-g!)
9. What room are you in: My living room.
10. What are your hobbies: Writing; blogging; baking; vintage shopping; playing guitar; travelling; building small treehouses.
11. What is your fear: Regrets. And spiders.. but you MIGHT know that.
12. Where do you want to be in 6 years: I'm going to cheat and refer to question 8. Take THAT, survey!
13. Where were you last night: Working.
14. Something you are not: An Easter egg.
15. Muffins: Are delicious, filling and remind me of that muffin top episode of Seinfeld.
16. Wish list items: A few minutes ago, I may have answered something like a new pair of boots, a return ticket to London or a goldfish named Giles, but now? MUFFINS!
17. Where did you grow up: Almost half-half: Wellington, New Zealand and Sydney, Australia.
18. Last thing you did: Listened to Stevie Wonder. And then Tom Jones. Love.
19. What are you wearing: My pyjamas, which are covered in monkeys blowing raspberries and the word 'cheeky'. Gla-mour!
20. Your TV: Is rarely used. Poor thing. It lost the 'Things-That-Will-Occupy-Most-Of-Corrine's-Spare-Time' competition to the internet AGES ago.
21. Your pets:
My parents' black labrador, Brandy, and my miniature fox terrier/chihuahua/possibly whippet Maynard, who was named after the lead singer from one of my favourite bands, Tool!
22. Your friends:
Are clever, hilarious and completely excellent in their own individual ways.
23. Your life:
Interesting; funny; surprising; lesson-laden.
24. Your mood: Tired, but, well.. cheeky?!
25. Missing someone: Yes. Tom. I know that might sound about three varying degrees of LAME, but because of our schedules at the moment (namely: mine!), I can only see him once a week. It's a little bit difficult and is making me a tiny bit pouty, but I keep reminding myself that in almost six weeks, we'll be living together again and will probably fondly YEARN for this alone time once more! I joke, I joke. Sort of.
26. Vehicle: Heh. My LEGS! I still don't have a full driver's license, tsk, tsk!
27. Something you're not wearing: A cape.
28. Your favourite store: I was tempted to say that I didn't just have ONE, but a quick glance at my bank statement argues that it is definitely, DEFINITELY Sportsgirl.
29. Your favourite colour: Turquoise.
30. When's the last time you laughed: Teehee! Just then. Text message!
31. When's the last time you cried: I can't remember. Probably when I was tired and grumpy and frustrated at something!
32. Your best friend: Is a lovely lass named Caroline, who often comments here. I have known her for the past eight years and we have had many ridiculous, happy and crazy adventures together!

Thank-you, Tina and Axe-y! It was a super sweet gesture, and one that I really appreciated. I think it's important to celebrate eachother and help one another out in the blogging community, so, with those words, I nominate in return.. all of you fellow bloggers out there! You're all wonderful and deserving of some praise!

x Bruna's Range Of Superb Thongs - If it wasn't clear in last week's Daily Frock post.. I LOVE thongs! But they're not particularly aesthetically pleasing, they CAN be unfashionable and sometimes, they make me feel downright naughty when I wear them with a pretty dress, because they're probably not the most complimentary accessory in the world. Cue the Hallelujah theme and enter the beautiful new line of thongs by Bruna, which are not only stylish enough to be worn with numerous outfits, but super comfortable, too! Thank-you very much to Sam of Sassi Sam! for sending me a pair; my feet no longer have to feel remorseful, and they're gorgeous!

x Other Little Things - Lunchtime picnics; holding hands; drivethrough pancakes; handing assignments in on time (now, let's all exhale in a sigh of relief.. AH); sending fun packages in the mail; neck massages; Corey Taylor; porridge with berries; Ikea catalogues; dark tiles; and drawing up plans!

And you, buttercup? Fill out the quiz, celebrate the happenings of your week or simply just admit that well, now you kind of feel like muffins, too.

xoxo
