Reducing your alcohol intake, striving to consume 7843.2 glasses of water each day, vowing to eat more greens with every meal.. sure, all of these may happily fall under the umbrella of traditional New Years Resolutions, but they're hardly the kind which are going to make you leap up, exclaim ''woohoo!'' and feel truly excited about 2010, are they?!
Personally, I'd rather chew on glass. Or on a severely less dramatic scale, whip up a batch of delicious goals which leave me feeling wonderfully inspired and actually wanting to complete them!
So! In order to make 2010 our most resplendent year yet, and filled with the sorts of stories we'd possibly like to tell our grandchildren about, why don't we..
x Aim to experiment with a different make-up look every week? It doesn't have to be a commitment to seven days of full-blown change, but why not select one day of each week to dazzle with false eyelashes, command compliments on beautiful eyes by switching ebony eyeliner for a sparkly jewel-toned hue, or look divine with an amazing creme blush?
x Plan to visit a new restaurant every month? After all, haven't you always wondered what that little Thai joint on the corner is really like? (I have!)
x Strike up a friendship with someone completely unexpected?
x Book a mini-holiday? Whether it's a three day interstate road-trip with your best friends or a brief jet-set to an exotic location, make it happen! Much like my feelings towards The Boogeyman, I don't believe in regrets, but if there's one activity that I wish I'd completed more in 2009, it would've been quick jaunts away. There's nothing that rekindles the spirit more than an excellent travel adventure, and while it's natural to fret over not having enough money or time to do so (believe me, I know!), sometimes you also just have to throw caution to the wind and remember that every day, you're writing the great script of your life: what do you want it to say?

x Create a living space that's reflective of exactly what we need? For example, if you crave bliss and relaxation, why not work towards building your bedroom/an area of your home into the most welcoming, sumptuous domain possible? Or, alternatively, a space that encourages you to act as an unstoppable productivity machine?
x Write a list of EVERYTHING that we want to achieve, and develop an action plan of how we can conquer it all? For example, if finding an occupation in a field that makes your heart race is one of your pursuits, why not conjure up the name of every person that you know working in that industry, and draft a letter (hint: it's a lot more personal than an e-mail, particularly when typed on glorious paper!) to them explaining your situation, and how you were wondering if they might know of anyone that could help you in your quest for employment, or of any suitable positions that they may have heard of?

For so many, 2010 signifies a year of change, and gleaming opportunities. One of the integral ingredients for these is taking action, and plotting a slate of resolutions is one of the most fabulous and successful ways to manifest this, so that you can enjoy your very best year yet!
What do you want want 2010 to represent for you?
xoxo
