An Aura-Soma Consultation With Joycelle ♥
September 30, 2009

When I first heard about Aura-Soma consultations with Joycelle through Gala Darling's website iCiNG, my curiousity immediately piqued. (Link evidence here!) Information about positive transformation? Yes, please! A magical insight into the future? Oh, bring it on! I was thoroughly enticed, and if you haven't already stumbled upon Gala's experiences with the treatment, she describes it here:

''I had an Aura-Soma consultation with Joycelle on my birthday & it was mind-blowing. As well as giving me lots of insight as to where I was & where I needed to get to, she told me a lot about colour & how we can use it for transformation. She told me to incorporate more blue & turquoise into my life, & since then I have been wearing blue almost every day, & this might sound kooky, but I have been feeling better than I have in a long time! I can't really explain it but I feel more productive & lucid, which is a great thing!''

Fascinated, I hurriedly e-mailed Joycelle (after being informed by Gala that, in addition to providing in-person readings, she would conduct them via the telephone or internet!), and was thrilled when I received a prompt response from her explaining that she would love to supply me with a session - and that all I had to do was fill out this page of information. I did, and my excitement almost reached fever point when she replied ''oh my god...new I felt good about you. we have the same birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice!!!'' My enthusiasim wavered slightly, however, when I read her next line, containing: ''hey just quickly...are you pregnant trying to conceive or just trying to attract your soul mate right now???'', as it couldn't have been more contrasting from my current situation. For starters, I'm not pregnant, and although my boyfriend and I would certainly like children one day, it's not on the agenda at the moment (or any time soon!) for a number of reasons, and as for trying to attract my soulmate? Well.. no! My boyfriend and I have been together for over five years, and as I told Joycelle, ''albeit a couple of wee break-ups, I'm very happy with him and love him very much, so.. here's hoping!''  The last remark was intended as a silly, flippant joke, however I think that she misinterpreted this as doubt in my relationship, because my report would later contain: ''you may be looking for external confirmation that this man is your soul partner and you won't to be hurt again?''

After paying for the consultation (NZ$90, however, if you mention that you discovered her services through Gala, you receive a $20 discount), I received a 12 page report (7, once you subtract the introduction) consisting of information based on the four bottles of colour that I had selected on the initial, previously aforementioned submission page. While I found some of Joycelle's recommendations to be very interesting, such as starting to keep a daily dream journal, overall, I felt that the advice given was too general, and couldn't help but wonder that if another person had picked similar colours to mine, would they have received the exact same report? (Because, interestingly, I was delivered the same suggestion as Gala - to incorporate more turquouise/blue into my life.)  I'm not sure. But her summary didn't feel relevant to me, and at times, seemed contradicting and confusing, with statements such as: ''you may be working through emotional issues connected with the past with your father'' and then, pages and pages later, ''you may be feeling unloved by your mother or perhaps just haven't had the nurturing love and support throughout life from your mother or mother figure.'' I also found it mystifying that, because I had gravitated towards the colours violet and purple together, she would conclude: ''you seem dissatisfied with your physical self at the moment and may hate your body?''

I'm not attempting to dismiss Joycelle's credibility, because I don't know her personally, and can identify from the way that her e-mails and content is constructed that she is clearly a very kind, loving woman. Nor am I trying to condemn Gala. However, as I have paid for the service, and Gala has recently enlisted the assistance of Joycelle at iCiNG to act as the website's resident psychic, I felt that it was important to view my opinion. I don't believe that the consultation warrants the fee that is charged, and felt that the majority of what was provided to me was incorrect, but am also convinced that the reading would have been much more successful if it was provided in person, as it must be almost impossible to even ATTEMPT to provide clear, insightful visions or wisdoms about somebody's life when you're conversing with them through a computer in another country.
