... and fuel it accordingly?
We all know that good nutrition is vital, but in a sea of non-fat, low-fat and full-fat foods, it can be difficult to know which is the best possible decision to make when it comes to healthy eating choices. So instead of deliberating over countless food labels, examining multiple packages and debating whether or not the fat content of a handful of almonds make them a worthy snack (despite their numerous health benefits!), why not ask yourself THIS before selecting a meal: how nutritionally beneficial is this for me? Adopt this as your meal-time mantra! Drink water because it hydrates, envigorates and makes your skin glow - not because you feel it's an unnecessary obligation! If you crave chocolate, don't deprive yourself - but seek to find the most luxurious, anti-oxidant rich variety available - and enjoy every mouthful! Think of food as fuel for your body: fuel for muscles, tissue growth and cell repair. Know that taking the time to develop a positive attitude towards nutrition and exercise will not only improve your total wellbeing, productivity and happiness, but that it will leave you with more energy to cope with a busy lifestyle, too.
But by far the best part of exercising and maintaining a nutritious diet? It will make you feel good. Really, really good. Are you with me?!

Agreed. It's so simple yet worth being reminded about, over and over again since so much of what we have is nutrition-less. One cannot survive on Lean Cuisine alone. (I tried, it didn't work out too well) Great site!

Eating healthily was my 2009 resolution, but so far it hasn't worked. I think my expectations were too unrealistic, but this advice isn't at all!

Jacqueline - Thank-you very much, I like yours a whole bunch too! :)
Sarah Hannah - I agree, nutrition is F-A-S-C-I-N-A-T-I-N-G! I I've always thought it would be interesting to study..
Vixel - For SURE. I'm often in the same kind of situation, but try to remind myself that when I'm tired and run down, eating junk is only going to make me feel worse!
Miss Sofia & Sally - Thank-you! :)
Joanne - Me too. Sugar is probably my culinary kryptonite!
Holly J Coley - True, true and true!

I totally agree with you in this post. Eating junk food is basically like shoving crap in replace of fuel into our vehicles. Healthy eating is the way to go, especially if you want to stay young, vibrant and beautiful-even as you age.

It's how I run most of the time, but I think it's totally cool to go nuts and completely indulge! I generally eat pretty good good, but I LOVE sugary treats...
Not so good on the water front though. ): I really need to see the benefits and not just the obligation!

SUCH good advice for those of us who use food for ... well, non-fuel purposes.

Interesting idea. I think I might start thinking like this from now on!

I'm definitely with you... when I'm not being lazy!
I really should eat properly all the time, not just when I feel really motivated to!
