Wall Aren't These Beauties SPECTACULAR?! ♥

in I Want... Inspiration!, I Want... Fun!

Forgive me for brandishing such an appalling lame pun in your direction (get it? Because it's about WALLS?!), but look!

Sure, sometimes we like to have a natter about blogging (and exactly what to do when mojo-thieving pixies abduct your posting inspiration), and other times we like to discuss the meaning of life or Janis Joplin, but gosh, can't it be grand to occasionally take a visual amble through someone else's interiors and marvel at their magnificent handwork, instead?

Presenting, today's guest in excellent eyeball fodder... WALL ART!

wall

I mean, just have a gander at this ingenious wall, will you?! Argh!

Not content with simply gazing at a bare white canvas each day, some nifty little maverick thought ''I know! I'll peer at a map of PARIS each day!''

inspiring

And then there's THIS bloomin' (ba doom CHI!) masterpiece. C-l-e-v-e-r!

Pop-out art? On a wall? Hey, why not?

POY

Or you know, you could be boring (ahem!), and opt for bicycles...

Tear-off attitudes? Amazing!

But course, it doesn't have to be ALL paint splatters and delightful pictures, you know. These two crafty creative spaces prove that a blackboard can look stupendously striking indeed...

Records: so alarmingly fantastic, and so alarmingly cost-effective!

I have absolutely no idea what this means, but heck yes!

I'm not sure who constructed either of these babies, but ooh-wee would I love to buy them a Pez or two to applaud their quirkiness!

And finally, if this eclectic collection of antique plates were any cooler, it'd surely be ice cold.

But on an unrelated note... eesh! If you were assaulted by a slew of cobwebs upon entering Frock & Roll today (and possibly a small group of bats), honestly now, who would've even been surprised?! It's been QUIET around here! And while the part of me that genuinely loves you wants to hurl fowards 1,283737347 apologies and continuously hiss ''I'm sorry! I'm SORRY!'' afterwards, the part of me that was listening at a recent blogger event (that would be my ears) couldn't help but overhear:

''I HATE it when someone apologises for not posting on their blog. Seriously, everyone gets busy and has a life, and sometimes you just can't. Just get over it and write something!''

And while I cooould have piped up with ''yeah, but there's people visiting your website! They're lovely and deserve to know that you haven't permanently retreated to a cave!'' (and that's how I feel), at the same time, she had a rock-solid point: just get over it and write something. So, HELLO! Here goes!

How do you feel about blogger absences? Have you ever taken one, and if so, how did you explain it? Should someone explain it? It's Question O'Clock time and jeez, we're on a ROLL!

(Psst! How sublime are those walls?!)

 xoxo

such great ideas of decorating walls! they're all fab. when I am in holiday, I just slow down the frequence of my posting and make the most of my break!

those walls all look AMAZING. i would love to do something creative like that when i've moved.

honestly, i don't follow much blogs lately, but when there's an absence i just respect it & move on. there's nothing wrong with having a life outside of these pixels.

i've taken several (unintentional) absences of my own blog too & at first i always apologized about it, while taking longer to get back to regular blogging. then, i don't know, i stopped making a whole scene of it & just posted when i had something i wanted to share & the time to do so. it was such a relief. seems like i post more now too.

haha someone once started a blog compiling everyone's "sorry I haven't blogged in awhile" posts... it was really funny how similar they all were. I tried to find it to link here but of course google just gave me a whole bunch of different blog posts called 'sorry I haven't blogged'. ha!

I abandon my blog all the time and never apologise... sometimes I'll explain my absence, but not usually. thing is I read most of my blogs in google reader and to be honest I rarely notice when someone hasn't posted in awhile. It's not like I'm visiting their page every day hoping for a new post (which is what my mum does with my blog, really need to show her how to subscribe by email...)

Oh my yes, I have always apologized for my blogging absence. Even though I don't have many followers I want them to know that they aren't forgotten about and why I was away. Many times the comments they leave become a great source of inspiration as well as comfort that they haven't forgot about me either.

These walls are amazing! It seriously makes me wish that I owned my own house so I could do some of these things. I particularly love the blackboard calender wall.

It doesn't really bother me when people apologise for their blogging absence - it just feels like a friend apologising for not calling for a while, you know? I do like knowing whether the absence is permanent or not though.

Wow, the bikes on the wall are simply amazing.

My favourite is the living room with the vinyl records, though. And the one with the Pez. So colourful!

11 May 2011, Sabrina , http://coffeerocketfairytale.wordpress.com

Those walls are rather lovely.

Sadly, I've never gotten around to blogging again.

11 May 2011, Tea and Cakes, http://teaandcakes.net/

Those walls are COOL!

I always refuse to apologise for my blogging absences. I'll mention them sometimes but I guess I don't apologise because my blog isn't THAT sought after (like yours my lovely) and I would feel like a bit of a douche thinking I was THAT in demand!

If someone actually complained that I wasn't blogging enough then I might find it in me though haha.

Eeeee that Pez wall made my day!

11 May 2011, Lizzie, http://lizzie-loves.blogspot.com/

Julie - YES! I *loved* Tom's vision board! (And all of '500 Days Of Summer' in its general gloriousness!)

And absolutely, I think an explanation is a fantastic compromise!

11 May 2011, x Corrine/Frock & Roll x, www.frockandrollonline.com

Oooo I love wall art. I want a huge vision board, but I haven't been around much to actually DO IT.

I remember Tom in 500 days of summer, his wall was covered in blackboard paint and he drew a huge landscape. I liked that a lot. I think that a HUGE landscape of your favourite city would be awesome wall art.

As for the blogging absence... I've taken way too many. I don't usually apologize but I like to give like a little explanation as to why I couldn't post. However, I understand that you don't have to explian why you haven't been posting. We all have lives outside blogging and unless it is actually your job, you are not obligated to post everyday or to apologize for not doing so.
