Benefit! Fragrances! What?!
Get out!
Actually, come back inside. It's freezing out there!
But if you're just as surprised as I was to learn that Benefit, known for products such as their cleverly-titled cosmetics but not so much Chanel No.5 or Armani Code, have dipped their toes into the almighty fragrance pool, then smelling one of their new Crescent Row scents will be an even more interesting experience.
Why? Because from what I've sniffed, they're delightful! Potent enough to ensure that they last the length of the day but not so heavy that they'll violently assault the nostrils of anyone who may come into contact with you, I was recently sent the third installment of the collection, So Hooked On Carmella, and room freshener this is not: it's a completely grown-up blend which perfectly lives somewhere between the musk, floral and woody fragrance families.
No, but it does have some intoxicating little notes such as lemon, grapefruit, rhubarb, cyclamen, peony, tiare flower, vanilla, sandalwood and amber! Exquisitely feminine but charming enough to appease even the fussiest of noses, Benefit say:
''When it comes to Carmella don't ask and don't tell, a light touch has admirers under her spell. Her sweet sensuality no-one would guess, so exquisite, enticing.. ''an intimate caress''!''
In short? It's a delicious, wallet-friendly scent with serious personality. It's on high rotation in my beauty playlist this week, and even though it's slotted in rather nicely on my dresser beside my older friends Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers: Music and Emporio Armani's Diamonds, to be honest, I've heard whispers that the others are becoming increasingly nervous: ''she's forgotten about us!'' They're insisting. ''The end is nigh! We're doomed to be confined to the bathroom cabinet!'' But oh, fear not, my perfume companions! There's room for all of you on my wrists! But for now, let me spend some quality time with my new friend Carmella..
♥
Have you tried any of Benefit's new fragrances? What are you wearing at the moment? And when it comes to finding a scent, are you likely to be loyal to one or close to many? Personally, I'm all about perfume promiscuity, but everyone is different and to some, the appeal of having a signature scent is irresistible! Where do you sit?

hmmm...i'm definitely a signature person myself - one for winter and one for summer! but i can't really play much with most of the cheap perfumes; have to stick to the classic (and expensive :[ ) brands, though, because they have more natural/fewer chemical ingredients, and chemicals make my skin terribly unhappy...
i generally wear givenchy irresistible (summer), or givenchy 3 (winter) - but i'd really like to get my hands on rive gauche and coco mademoiselle...

So how can we transmit smells via the internet...hahaha, but seriously I'd like to smell it. I've not heard of this brand before though, to be honest. I'm currently flitting between Love Etc by The Body Shop and Miss Dior Cherie (sp?) :]

Oh this sounds wonderful. I'm wearing Beyonce's newie at the moment but it's always nice to have another one on the go and this sounds fab! :) Thanks for sharing.

I've been wearing Vera Wang 'Princess' and this 'Intimately Beckham' one as of late :)
This 'So Hooked On Carmella' sounds positively scrumptious though! Great review, Corrine :)

Julie - Ooh, I haven't tried either of those before! I know what's on my 'to-smell' list next time I'm near a department store counter! (Hint: it's not a cotton bud.)
Raquel - Haha girl, schmirl. A perfume does not maketh the girl! But that's a very clever AND economical idea from your mother. You could have a different fragrance for every day of the week!

Confession: I don't wear perfume. Mainly because sometimes I suck at being a girl. If I did, though, I would do what my Mum does - get lots of mini bottles cheaply so I have lots of options.

No, I've never heard of them. They're probably not in Mexico (seriously, I get jealous of how many awesome products are in other countries and impossible to get them here ¬¬).
At the moment I'm rotating between Very Irresistible Givenchy and Armani White. I liked to shake up my perfumes but I usually buy Lacoste Touch of Pink, some kind of Armani or the Givenchy one. I like those scents better and I don't like other perfumes because I'm allergic to some scents.
