BLOG
Oh, happy DAYS! The sun is shining and the weekend is here, so what better way to commemorate the occasion and savour the moment with an adoring reflection of the past seven days, and all of the twinkly, giddy-filled occurences that helped shaped it into its brilliance?!
Here's what I'm loving this week!
x Birthday Anticipation! - There are those that firmly believe that birthday excitement ceases after the age of approximately 10 years old; and then there are those that say ''ha! Nuts to that!'', and know that their birthday is ENTIRELY what they make it, and that it can be as fun, silly and magical as you want! Ooh! With just over a week to go until my 22nd birthday, I'm massively anticipating the crazy, Virgo madness that September always represents... it's a HUGE month for birthdays in my family, with myself on the 8th, one of my grandmothers on the 9th, my father on the 10th, one of my aunties on the 11th, as well as another auntie and my puppy on the 17th, y-e-s! And on that note...
x ... New Zealand! - I realised today that I haven't spent a birthday in my home country since leaving there almost ten years ago, which seems kind of crazy, but is precisely why it makes perfect sense to do so this year! (And to celebrate my family's too!) At the end of next week, we'll be flying into Christchurch, before making our way to Blenheim, enjoying a sojourn to Whakatane, and then flying out from Auckland!
x Positive & Creative Reinforcements - Clever people have long been spruiking the concept of ''ask and you shall receive'', and using images, quotes and wishlists in our surroundings to establish EXACTLY what we want from life. So, I took a leaf out of their book and a few months ago, created a vision board consisting of sparkly embellishments, sentimental photos and all of the aforementioned suggestions to provide myself with a daily reminder of what it was that I was seeking, and I'm amazed to admit it, but... it seems to have had an effect! I'm not sure if that can be attributed to the fact that because I constantly see it, it's made me more focused on my goals, or whether it's due to strange, mystical universe occurrences... either way, it's kind of incredible!

x Lady Gaga - Eeeep! While I've always admired her eccentric and courageous outfits (sometimes bizarre, yes - but I LOVE that she's not afraid to push buttons, be completely original and dress for herself!), and definitely adored Paparazzi, generally, my crush stopped there... but oh, I GET it now! Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) is my currently my favourite song and sweet merciful crap, I've fallen for Pokerface, too... argh!
x Other Little Things - Gigantic and delicious non-lettuce-y salads (think chickpeas, roasted pumpkin, coriander, red onion, lemon juice, cumin and pepper.. mmm!); exciting family news (my boyfriend's brother just discovered that he's having a baby, ah! Of course, he's not actually the one HAVING the child, but it is amazing and I am thrilled all the same!); 'Monster' energy drinks (it's brand new, pineapple flavoured, packs a mega-watt caffiene punch and smells/tastes roughly a ZILLION times better than Red Bull. What's not to love?!); cocktail rings; smiles; accents; tenderness; Ebay sales; and the gorgeous Em of Lick My Cupcakes, for always pioneering lovely little projects!
♥
Enchanting weekend plans? Phone conversations with your favourite person in the world? Stripes? Tell me! What are you all over this week? (And have a lovely weekend!)
xoxo

Happy birthday to you! How exciting that you'll be back in your home country to celebrate. I've never been to New Zealand, but my husband has family there. So we're hoping to check it out soon!

I'm starting to rather like Lady Gaga as well, which worries me somewhat! Perhaps I'm widening my musical tastes!
Monster energy drink is awesome, the boy and I seem to live off it at the moment!

That sounds wonderful spending your birthday in New Zealand. It's such a beautiful country! I get excited over my birthday too hehe
Lady gaga is strangely appealing...I don't quite know why.
My weekend was spent doing homework :)

Alex - We were all discussing this in class recently, actually.. whether or not she was, or if it was just a publicity stunt.. either way, man/woman/hermaphrodite/polar bear/whatever, I still dig her! :D
5ft0 - Thank-you very much! :)
Scribbles - Ooh! That's about an hour away from Whakatane, isn't it? (Cripes, I should REALLY remember this..) Because I think I'll be in Whakatane for that night, does that help? :)

Ahem missy, still waiting for a date that we can do coffee/cocktails while you are over here. I'm with SB in Rotorua overnight on the 12th of September... I will cry if that means we can't catch up :(

Julie - Awww, I'm glad you're feeling better now! I remember you were feeling sick and ugh, that's not a whole bunch of fun at all. Thanks for the song recommendation, I'll definitely download that one - I can't believe I never liked her music until now, but then again, I always seem to be the LAST one on the bandwagon with any popular movie/book/music.. :p Thank-you for your comment, and yes, I agree with you WHOLEHEARTEDLY about birthdays! If you can't have the time of your life, dress fabulously and eat a giant piece of cake on your days of days, when can you?!

Ooo Exciting week!!
I'm so with you on the birthday anticipation!! Birthdays never get old and honestly we all need many, many reasons to celebrate everyday n_n.
YAY for jumping on the Lady Gaga train. I looove her whole album. there is also a song called Fashion of hers that was on the Confessions of a Shopaholic album that I recommend a lot.
My week was engineering Week! Which automatically makes it awesome. I did get sick but I'm alright now n_n.
