Accessories, I love thee! But without some appropriate storage methods, it can be very easy for treasured pieces to resemble, well, uh, that lovely pile of jewellery you can see to your right: CHAOTIC MESS. But fear not! With just a few simple steps, you can turn your clutter into organised BLISS. Yes, you can. The good news? It isn't expensive, either!
My favourite storage solutions?
x Love your collection of brooches and badges? Don't keep them hidden away! Grab a simple cushion and pin your bits and bobs to them - that way, you can have them all on display, and you'll always be able to see what you have! (Added bonus? It looks preeeeeeeeeetty.)

x Visit the supermarket and check out the sewing section - or, alternatively, visit your local craft or hardware store. They're both stocked with these hugely nifty plastic containers, which are perfect for storing jewellery. Designed to house buttons, sewing needles, nails and other little bits of crafting and hardware paraphernalia, they're excellent as they're cheap, have dividers (so you can store all your rings, necklaces and bracelets in separate compartments - no more tangling!) and are see-through, so with just a quick glance, you can see exactly what you have. Fabulous.
x Got a stash of earrings? Buy a corkboard, cover it in an incredible sheet of fabric, and stick your earrings onto it. It looks mega arty with minimal effort, and can really help to brighten up a wall or dresser.
x For hairclips, bows, ribbons and ties, I like to store them all in a big glass jar. Headbands? I keep them in a plastic storage container with a lid - you can find these in supermarkets, hardware and storage stores, and while I like to keep a small pile of plastic containers stacked on top of each other in the bottom of my closet, you can also buy the variety that slide right underneath your bed - supremely efficient.

x Limited closet space? You may just jump for joy at the sight of these clever hooks! They hang over the back of your door, so you don't need to install anything, or even buy any extra parts - all you need to do is get thy self to a homewares or storage store. They're ideal for storing belts, handbags and scarves.
x If I wasn't already in a relationship, I would seriously be trying to forge one with Ebay. Look at these creations! Racks for your bangles and rings, earring and necklace trees, and the most ingenious selection of holders. Delightful!

What are some of the best storage solutions that you've ever implemented, or would like to introduce to your wardrobe? (Because really, it's always fun to dream..)

Sarah Hannah - That sounds like such a dreamy little set-up! Noooice!
Kez - Ha! I'm so guilty of that too.
Sally - Ooh, ooh! I do that too! :D
Lauren - Well, if it makes you feel any better sweetness, that IS my pile of jewellery! I threw it all together because I couldn't find any pictures of messy piles that I liked!
Luana - I've always called them butterflies! I don't know if that's correct, but that's what I've always referred to them as! :)
Katie - You're welcome, honeybunch!

Fab advice! I promised myself when I move house I'll organise my accessories better.. I lose things all the time and a lot is all tied up together or broken it's worth a lot of money and I don’t only want to wear it once. WILL PRINT THIS OUT
Thank you darlin' xo

Oh Oh Oh! Great ideas. I have my earrings out like that, very inexpensive and convenient. Except for my earrings that aren't the hook-on kind and have that little thing at the back? What are those called anyway?

Such great suggestions!
I keep my bangles on a paper towel rack: http://www.alreadypretty.com/2009/05/this-week-i-love_25.html

I've tried so many storage methods but I am not disciplined enough to keep it up!
For example, I have the coolest earring stand and I never end up putting them back on there after wear!!

Alex - Yes! Haha, do you know what I've been using for years as a (originally temporary!) bangle rack? A paper towel holder! I pinched it from our kitchen once.. Tom came home & said ''where's the paper towel holder gone?!'' and I just smiled and said ''WELL! You know how I often leave my bangles in 20,34232 different places.. I've come up with a solution!'' I'm not entirely sure that he was convinced, but anyhoo, it works for now ;D

Oh, yes. Accessory storage is proving a problem for me these days.
I think I'm going to buy a rack thingy for my bangles, it's getting ridiculous how many I have. And they look prettier on display :P

Julie - Ooh, that's a smart wee system indeed! I like, I like!

I love these! I have one of those hooks for my door where I hang all my long dresses. I also have several nails in the drywall that is my closet for my bags and hats.
For my shoes I use a little rack thingy as a makeshift shoe rack and for myk I use two letter sized boxes to store cables and some notebooks.
