Lady Gaga ♥

Psst!  Can I share an almost-secret with you? I ADORE Lady Gaga! In fact, she's probably my favourite celebrity of 2009.

Theatrical, striking, avant-garde and courageous, she continually pushes the envelope in every musical and sartorial sense possible. And although her name is often laced with controversy, instantly divides opinions and ultimately rouses questions about gender and sexuality (after stripping down to her underwear during a concert in England earlier this year, rumours surfaced that she was a hermaphrodite), her ability to supply pure, groundbreaking unconventionalism is rarely discounted. (And personally? I couldn't care less if she IS half man/half kite/a rare breed of exotic dancing Antarctic polar bear: I love that she's unusual!)

From fabulous one-piece bubble suits...

... she believes that everything she produces, from her daily dress-ups to musical videos, should be treated as a work of art, and claims to have endured bankruptcy four times (''I spend every dollar I make on my shows. I don't care about money, I want props and fashion!''), as she invests almost all of her earnings in the attempt to create mind-blowing, unforgettable and extraordinary concerts.

I can't help but admire someone who is so fiercely passionate about what they do that they claim to be ''married'' to their career, especially when they deliver such statements so lovingly.

"In the deepest hour of the night, I confess to myself three things: I would die if I was forbidden to write, forbidden to love, or forbidden to fashion. Love each other, and celebrate the art and lifestyle of music."

Lady Gaga Songs To Fall In Love With.. :

x Pokerface. x Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say). x I Like It Rough. x Paparazzi. x Love Game. x Boys, Boys, Boys. x Starstruck. x Bad Romance.

Love her, hate her, know her strictly as ''that-girl-that-doesn't-wear-any-pants'' - Lady Gaga may be a lot of things, but gosh, isn't it nice to discuss someone who is truly DIFFERENT?!

Love Game was my wakeup song on the iPod every morning of our contiki tour!! "Let's have some fun this beat is sick, I wanna take a ride on your disco stick!!"

Oh my god, I love her too. People give me crap for it but I don't care- she's genuinely talented. If she was a terrible singer I would probably assume that she just wanted attention to distract from her bad music- but she's so good! It's obvious that she really is in a slightly different world than the rest of us, and that's a good thing.

Plus, hello, the hair bow? Yes please.

Lady Gaga definitely stands out from the other entertainers. Follows to her own beat.

Though her idea of feminism is interesting...

But who am I to judge?

I looooooooooove Lady Gaga! Seriously can't say enough good things about her!

I respect what she's doing as an artist-- she's dedicated! Have you ever seen her acoustic versions of songs? The girl can sing!

Also going to see her in March. WHAT WILL I WEAR?!

16 Dec 2009, Katie, http://musicamor.com/vinny/fuckhammer/blog/

Her first song I heard "just dance" I LOVED her instantly.. then... I started to hate her. Then, I became obsessed. Hahaha. I think she's fabulous <3 I often don't like the way she dresses I always thought she was over the top but then she is and I love her for that. Definately married to her career you can tell. She upshowed Beyonce she's a diva but always was before she was rich and famous. Amaze. Best musician 2009. Best entertainment

I LOVE the Lady. I don't even like all of her music, but you have to admire anyone who is that f'n dedicated. Plus she writes and produces all of her own music too, AFAIK - how many pop stars, male or female, can you say THAT about?!

M - I can definitely see similarities to both Madonna AND David Bowie, in terms of her image, career and ability to influence!

Melissa - *sigh* Isn't it?! It's probably one of the most dreamy pieces that I have ever seen. It's the perfect combination of shocking and stunning.

She is freakin' amazing. And that bubble suit! OMG! It would be so hard to wear but wow, it is amazing.

She is truly an incredible artistic force, taking pop music to new heights. I was talking to my boss the other day, and she compared Lady G to Madonna, and although I can see influences, I think Gaga goes much further in terms of artistry and image. She's groundbreaking and controversial, but also incredibly genuine and new in a way more like David Bowie.

Julie - It seems as though everything she comes out with is pretty darn amazing, right?! Although I have to admit, I wasn't CRAZY about her to start with - but then I took notice of her eccentric dress sense (which I instantly loved!), and heard 'Paparazzi' - and bang, I was SOLD! :D

Luana - Hahaha, I know that feeling - I've been thinking of writing about her for weeks now, but sometimes it's difficult to articulate exactly what you want to say about someone!

maraluce - I love that about her, too - in addition to being phenomenally talented, she also seems to possess the most incredible vision! And anyone who's bold and doing something that they love is always a winner to me!

MK - She's definitely adding an element of diversity to the genre of pop, which I think is wonderful, too :)

I have never liked Lady Gaga, but after this post I actually started to see some appeal in her. I like what she says about music and I have to agree that even though I think what she wears is awful most of the time, at least she's not another boring popstar.

16 Dec 2009, MK

i adore her too ^-^

maybe not ALL of her songs, but i adore her style & videos & general boldness. she is also one of the few people in the pop industry with actual TALENT.

16 Dec 2009, maraluce, http://maraleopard.wordpress.com

YES! She's so amazing, so different from everything out there. I wrote a post about her but it's in my drafts because I just keep adding things to it! haha.
