BLOG
Pencils? Poodles wearing sweaters? Light bulbs?! (I knew I shouldn't have looked at the ceiling just then!) What are YOUR favourite things this week?
x Saturday Night - I am attending my very first hen's night for my friend Erin who is getting married in two weeks time tonight! There's anticipation (finding an all-pink outfit to wear! Helping to decorate Hen's Night HQ this afternoon!), excitement (riding in a limousine into the city! Dinner and drinks!), and finally, terror (learning/watching burlesque/pole dancing taught by uh, strippers!) - um, yelp! Or should that be ''help''?! It will definitely be an interesting experience!
x Researching Other Cities & Places That I'd Like To Stay - One of the best things about working for a travel company is having to regularly research other cities and foreign hotels to write about in their newsletters, blogs and on their websites. One of the WORST things about working for a travel company is wanting to visit and stay in every single one of them! Oh, there are so many places and activities that I want to see and complete in the years to come that my biggest fear in life is quickly becoming not being able to explore them all! I want to eat pizza, walk the streets and stay up all night in New York, inhale the sights and sounds of Tokyo, shop in Hong Kong, volunteer and complete community work in Thailand, dance badly and eat delicious food in Mexico, spend months in Germany - everything!
x The Golden Nugget Pool in Las Vegas, Nevada - And this is no exception: it's a luxury pool, complete with a three-story water-slide that actually takes you through an aquarium, with SHARKS. A-m-a-z-i-n-g!

x Other Little Things - Surprise phone calls from my little sister; re-watching old episodes of Seinfeld (and for so many years, I was convinced that it was one of those shows that I ''wouldn't like'' - ha! I couldn't have been any more wrong even if my name was Wrongy McWrong and I came from WRONGVILLE!); extremely delicious Indian food (I am very partial to a fine curry); hearing my female neighbour in the apartment next-door absolutely BLASTING Creed one morning (and here I was thinking that everybody hated them!); that Australia now has its first female Prime Minister (ethical debate of how it all happened aside); plum-coloured nail polish; iced finger buns; and buying a world globe for my office!
x I Can't Stop Listening To - Disco compilations on iTunes (jeez, I love that you can make your own playlists on there so much!) featuring KC & The Sunshine's Band Boogie Shoes, Patrick Hernandez's Born To Be Alive (one of my favourite songs!), Marvin Gaye's Got To Give It Up and Michael Jackson, old-school Madonna and Mudvayne's The End Of All Things To Come album.
x A Lesson Learned - This isn't so much a lesson or epiphany as it is a question, but when it comes to working and opportunities, at what point do you decide that you're worth, well, MORE? If you had just graduated from university and were seeking an internship in the interest of landing a full-time, paid gig in your chosen industry somewhere, at what point would you decide that enough was enough, that you had worked without payment for as long as you could endure? One year? Two years? Likewise, if you were offered a FANTASTIC opportunity at a well-known company but discovered that salary-wise, it was on par with your first casual job rotating sausages on a barbecue at a nearby butcher's shop when you may or may not have been fourteen (cough), and they 100% wouldn't budge on their offer, would you accept it? When is something a worthwhile sacrifice and when does it creep into slightly-insulting-to-my-self-worth territory?
x Salute the month that was June by compiling a list of everything magnificent that happened during it! Did you go roller-skating for the first time? Tackle a book that had been on your nightstand forever? Become friends with an ostrich?! (I think I need some caffeine!) Realising that we're entering a new month always freaks me out and makes me temporarily question what the heck I've been doing all year: writing everything down or taking a moment to think about it all helps me to remember that I've done more than I think I have and makes me smile! (Or cry. No, it's definitely smile!)
x Experiment with something new to drink, even if it's for just for one night! Tropical flavoured water? Mango iced tea? Hot tea with rose petals? Vodka with a hint of pears? Strawberry champagne?
♥
Have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo

Ohhh how incredible are those photos?! Ahh. ♥
Yes, I too am super excited about the first female PM, but I just want to break down in tears for poor Kevin 07.
I love him and his ego hahaha.
I imagine that your reaction to your neighbour playing Creed would be the same level of excitement if my neighbours started blaring Fleetwood Mac and/or Stevie Nicks hahaha, I would take them a bunch of flowers :P

The work/salary question is an interesting one. People always say being happy is more important than money but I think that the salary you are paid is about more than the actual $$$, it shows how much the company thinks of you.
Joys this month - well yesterday I found an umbrella on the train... it was raining and I didn't have one. That made me happy beyond belief!
