And it's JUNE! Gosh. 2010, where are you disappearing to?!
But anyway. This isn't 'It's Mild-Heart-Attack Time!'', this is It's Friday, which means that it's time to remember the week that was, and the moments that have made it considerably sweeter! (Even if there was a day where you contemplated exactly why you had decided to get out of bed, or spilled hot chocolate - gulp - all over yourself!)
Here's a few:
x Europe - There's that tightening in the chest again! Holy heart palpitations, in exactly four months and eight days my boyfriend and I will be in Europe! I am both excited - Germany! The Eiffel Tower! Gelato! - and utterly terrified - living on a decadent diet of two-minute noodles and baked beans until then! (I wonder if you can purchase them by the truckload?!) Furiously saving! Absolutely no spending whatsoever! WHEE!
x Foreign Movies On SBS - Because they're quirky, interesting and always entertaining, and namely due to the fact that Das Wilde Leben (or Eight Miles High!), a German film that I watched tonight about a woman named Uschi who joins a commune in Berlin, begins a modelling career, spends her time with rock stars and travels the world on a bus pursuing love and freedom, was not only of the most magnificently styled movies that I've seen in a long time, but one of the most intriguing, too!

x Bizarre Decors` - Argh! The obsession, the mystery! So, there's this little house nearby which I am unhealthily obsessed with (to the point of wanting to knock on the door and ask if I can peer inside)! Why? It's rainbow coloured. There are witch puppets and dolls flying broomsticks hanging from the roof, along with shrunken heads, leprecauns and evil pumpkins. By CHAINS. There's multi-coloured fairy lights. Gnomes buried in the thick grass. Posters taped to the windows! It's the perfect blend of insanity and whimsy and the only time that Tom and I have ever caught a glimpse of the men living there is when a) one was dancing in his open doorway at 2.00am with a bottle of beer; and b) another was hysterically pushing a pot plant up and down the street on a red trolley (presumably taking it out for a walk?!) one Sunday morning - all of which has only fuelled my insatiable curiosity to see what actually takes place inside!
x Other Little Things - Bravery; family engagements (congratulations!), and the fact that I now have a rock-solid excuse to visit New Zealand again early next year!; positive perspectives (me: ''oh $*#%, I just spilled my water everywhere!'' My boss: ''no, you're just cleaning your desk!'' Me: ''Oh, yes. Cleaning! I like that. I am definitely using that line on my boyfriend next time I knock something over..''); accents; Tom, because even though his constant recital of Frank Zappa lyrics (complete with ridiculous dance moves and voices!) are sending me absolutely BATTY, he is still one very excellent man; apple crumble and ice-cream; and fringes!
x I Can't Stop Listening To - Nancy Sinatra, Faith No More and David Bowie!
x A Lesson Learned - It's important to be assertive. Rude? No! Jerk-like? Never! Confident in your beliefs, values and overall worth, and able to execute that attitude effectively when required? It's darn hard, but it's certainly a quality worth honing!

x Whip up your own pair of sparkly, glitter-encrusted heels! Ooh, I am so doing this. I have been on a mission to find something like these while shopping for what feels like my entire life (no exaggeration!) and then oh hello, the very clever Lady Melbourne comes along and produces a pair that are so deliciously enchanting, I can't help but want to create my own! And the best part? (Apart from the fact that they're, you know, beautiful.) They're a piece of cake (phew!) to make! Just grab a cheap pair of heels, some craft glue, a whole bunch of glitter to throw all over them and a bit of hairspray to help everything stay put and then ta-dah! You're finished!
x Take heed from Das Wilde Leben: ''don't dream about your life, live your DREAM!''
♥
xoxo
