Hello weekend and hello, a list of my favourite things of the week!

x Wednesday - On Wednesday, my boyfriend and I both happened to have the day off, an occurrence that's as frequent as say, pigs flying through the sky! (We both work weekdays so it never, ever happens!) So what did we do? How did we choose to spend it? By venturing into the city, of course! We browsed through second-hand and army disposal stores, went camera hunting (mission accomplished!), ate pizza and calzone at Zia Pina restaurant, enjoyed a beverage or two at The Lowenbrau Bavarian Beer Cafe`, walked along Circular Quay with gelato and completed the Sydney tourist must-do activity of catching the ferry from there to Manly. In short? It was EXCELLENT! As we sipped our drinks at The Lowenbrau, my boyfriend smiled and remarked ''jeez. Pizza and Bavarian beer by 3pm? I could get very, very used to this!''

x Buying A New Camera - It's not pink, it's not fancy and it's probably not as clever as my previous one (oh camera battery, why did I have to lose you in Boogie Wonderland in New Zealand, WHY?!), but I can now take photos again and ah, what a sweet little nugget of relief that is! (Honestly, I go batty when I don't have one. I take photos of EVERYTHING!)

x Search Engine Boot Camp - There's a tiny part of me that always slightly recoils at the thought of attending work-related courses (why?!), but yesterday I attended a full-day seminar on the weird and wonderful world that is search engines at The Hilton Hotel, and it was surprisingly fantastic! I met new people, learned a trick or two, and walked out feeling significantly more knowledgeable.. win! (Take THAT, search engines!)

x Miniature Shopping Sprees - At the risk of sounding like somebody from the 1950's, holey MOLEY! Last weekend I went on an expedition to the mall and it was the first time that I had properly opened my wallet for a shopping spree in AGES! (Seriously, bats nearly flew out of it.) You know the kind where you decide to replace your falling apart underwear from 2000 years ago and accidentally come home with two dresses, a necklace, two rings, a photo frame and an incense boat as well?! Yeah. It was that sort of day!

x Other Little Things - The arrival of the long weekend (dear public holiday: I love you! You allow me to catch up on sleep and force me to slow down because nothing is open. Thank-you! Love always, Corrine); System Of A Down; winning tickets to Fashion Weekend Sydney; e-mails from my sister which say that she's coming to Australia next month (!!!); small kitchen renovations (my boyfriend completely re-tiled ours this week and wow, it's amazing how much of a difference that a new set of tiles can make!); the fact that my boyfriend knows what he's doing AT ALL (how does he know this stuff?! I am CLUELESS when it comes to any kind of handiwork! In fact, my idea of helping is standing next to him and saying ''can we go on an adventure yet?!'' Hopeless!); big, fresh salads (I am eating one right now: Moroccan-flavoured rice with chickpeas, diced apricots and sultanas, y-u-m!); unbelievably lucky thrifting finds (I found a mint condition Burberry trench coat the other day for $15! $15! I'm not going to lie, I gasped..); friends who wait at the bus stop with you in the wee hours of the morning to make sure you get home safely; boyfriends who indulge your hangover-induced whining the next day and go out to fetch you treats; being called a dreamer (it's true, I really, really am. I seem to permanently exist on some kind of other planet and am often told - sometimes not so endearingly - that I live in Fairytale Land, but hey, I LIKE it there! Fairytale Land is so much more fun than ''reality'', anyway...); curly fries; and lunches in the park!
