Ooh! It's weekly love list time!

What were your finest moments of the week?

Here's what's putting a what's putting a wiggle in my walk, a smile on my dial and a scarf on my giraffe! (Hey, wait a minute.. that doesn't sound right..)

x Starting A New Career - Oh, that life: she's a mysterious mistress! One minute you're wandering around your apartment, blowing bubbles and whipping up cover letters and resumes and what not, and the next? You've found yourself a brand-spanking new job! Yes! After attending an interview for a position at a travel company yesterday, I am SUPREMELY excited to announce that I'll be commencing my role as the Online Marketing Co-ordinator/Website Specialist there next week, and ooh, I'm very much looking forward to it! Involving copywriting, online marketing, website maintenance and more, the business is located close to where I live, the director of the company seems genuinely LOVELY, and the role itself offers an opportunity for me to develop a heap of new skills, as well as flexible working conditions! (Hooray!) Although I'm definitely feeling the symptoms of new-job jitters already (I have so much to learn!), I'm also feeling wildly optimistic about it, and can't wait to start!

x Learning About HTML & Coding - In terms of website creation, I've dabbled with a bit of font-size changing here, inserting images into text and colour-alteration there, but that's about the extent of my knowledge with website design, and, well? It's time to learn some more. So! What am I doing? From Monday evening, I'll be commencing a course in HTML and coding, and I'm one very keen little steamed bean to be doing so indeed! After all, it's always interesting to sink your teeth into a new project; mind expansion is FUN!

x Dreaming Of Winter - Honestly, bring it on: the leather jackets, the marshmallows in cups of creamy cocoa, the printed and patterned stockings, the ridiculous layers of blankets.. summer, it's been a delightful wee ride, but humidity's never been my bag, and I'm 100% ready for a change of seasons!

x Other Little Things - Warm focaccia bread; long phone conversations with old friends; the smell of thick, glossy magazine pages; surprise storms; unique creative spaces; drooling lustfully over piles of ceiling-high books; classical music; The Dandy Warhols' Every Day Should Be A Holiday; Limewire; graphic design; Tim Walker's photography; afternoon slices of carrot cake; Them Crooked Vultures; taking risks; impromptu shopping trips; afternoon snoozes; people who are warm, encouraging and supportive; Black Rebel Motorcycle Club; my best friend's crazy/sweet dreams (seriously, here is an excerpt from a message that she sent me the other day: ''oh my god, guess what?! I dreamed about Frock & Roll last night! Weird, I know.. and yes I do actually have a life that doesn't revolve around your website, but obviously it's not cool enough to dream about! I dreamed that I checked it and there were 4 new posts I hadn't read, which is weird, 'cause I check it daily!'' Oh, Caroline. I love you!); and discussions about star signs!

Your turn!

xoxo

I love playing computer code. It's like a puzzle and it feels so good when it works. Of course, I don't mess around with complicated stuff. ;) Congrats and good luck with everything!

Coding can be fun hey! To answer your question, I use Photoshop to create banners, the vectors I use are free-use those. I'm not that talented unfortunately. You just have to check that you're not violating any licencing agreements (which I'm not! :D)

& oh I drool at the thought of warm focaccia bread. I actually used to work in a bakery and we'd get people asking for 'fock-a-chia' hahaha!

I'm a coding snob XDD but I love it a lot. It's totally easy when you get the hang of control structures (they'll explian what that is).

Right now I'm taking a class about the actual design and aesthetic of websites, it will help me to be a well rounded web developer.

Anyhoo, this week:

- Sunshine!!- After a week of rain and more rain the sun came out today. I really missed it.

- Making the decision to start job hunting again - I need to re-do my resume and do it in English too so that I can apply overseas as well.

Luana - Thank-you so very much, lovely! It's something that I've wanted to learn for a REALLY long time, so I'm massively looking forward to it!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Congratulations on the new job! I love coding and website building, I wish I could update that knowledge! I learned HTML way back in 2000, and standards have definitely changed since then! Do share your pearls of knowledge once you begin the course :D
