It's Friday! ♥

Gosh! Hello! If Google Analytics is anything to go by, there ARE a lot of new faces around here, aren't there?! It's possible that you found your way here through the very sublime Zoe Foster, or the always-delightful Gala Darling.. either way, WELCOME! If I was any sort of host, I surely would have prepared some sort of blindingly fabulous welcoming banquet for you all by now, but uh, I'm kind of disorganised. I'm sorry about that. Allow me to pour you a virtual cup of tea instead, and introduce you to It's Friday! Other than being a supremely obvious reminder of what day of the week it is, it's all about delivering the weekly recap, celebrating the ever-impending weekend and revelling in all of the obsessions, magical intricacies and moments of excellence in between. It's almost like blowing a big, happy, gratitude-filled farewell kiss to the week that was, and giving an open embrace to the week ahead! In a totally non-weird way, of course. So! From new courses to gingerbread and songs with a fabulous tune, here are some of the things that are making me SWOON! :

x Coffee Dates - Or, more specifically, iced gingerbread chocolate latte` dates, mmm! On Wednesday morning, I met my very best friend Caroline for a quick pre-college beverage session to catch-up and happily natter away about everything from boys, dreams, travelling escapades and the future! It had been MONTHS since I'd seen her, as she recently moved to Queensland's The Gold Coast, so it was a great excuse to be slightly late to class, teehee! Of this I know for sure: excellent company + delicious liquid refreshments = bliss.

x Blogger Meet-Ups - The other day, I received an e-mail from the lovely Kate of Treslola, who has just relocated back to Australia after living in London for over a year, and wants to meet face-to-face! It's exciting, because Kate was one of the first girls that I ever began talking to online, and has always been nothing but super sweet. Also, I've never actually met any of my blogging friends before! I'm really looking forward to it, and I'll be sure to take pictures!

x Learning About Web Design - It would not be unreasonable to assume that because I have a website, I'm a teensy bit clue-y when it comes to the business of web design.. but honestly? My knowledge of it is probably the same as my expertise on how not to spill liquids on clothing.. NON-EXISTENT! But this week, I began completing a beginner's course in it, and it has been so interesting! Learning about coding was something that always seemed impossible to comprehend to me, but it's actually been surprisingly easy and immensely enjoyable.. bring on the next class!

x Gloriously Self-Indulgent Days - If I were Prime Minister/President for a day, one of my immediate commandments would be the introduction of everyone dedicating at least ONE day a week to being completely, utterly and gloriously self-indulgent! What would this entail? Day spa visits. TV/movie marathons. Roller-skating sessions, followed by afternoon ice-cream sundae adventures. It would be a law ensuring that for at least 24 hours a week, we put our own needs first and decide to do exactly whatever takes our fancy! Seriously, I think this is so important for personal happiness. On Monday, I determined that it was precisely what I needed, and spent the day fossicking through vintage stores and creating sparkly packages for overseas friends.  The benefits? I instantly felt happier and more relaxed, and I was able to cope so much better with the demands of a fast-paced week!

x Other Little Things - Playlists featuring Lady Gaga's I Like It Rough, Faith No More and Britney Spears' Get Naked (I've Got A Plan) (serious contender for The Foxiest Song I've Ever Heard Awards, which don't actually exist, but gives you an idea of its fox factor!); a full inbox of delightful e-mails; late night feasts; being sent a pack of energy shots (V, did you read my mind?! I have been exhausted this week, and they were EXACTLY what I needed!); marmalade; waking up to find a sequinned purse full of brand new make-up outside my door; offers; and reclining in the shade on a warm, summer's day.

But enough about me. Let's hear about you! Spill the beans! Share your tales! How was your week?

xoxo

P.S. We're on the home stretch! The Textbook Romance competition is ending very soon, so if you haven't already dropped your name and answer in there, for the love of giveaways, what are you waiting for?! Hop to it!

Good luck with the course. I just started one too in the hopes of being able to function on my website without constantly googling what to do. The future of it is so much more fun to think about when learning how that little code can become something totally great.

Ooh, are you taking an in person or online class? I'm interested in coding...not like, professionally or anything, but it'd be nice to be able to work on my site without having to call up a nerd friend and say "PUH-LEEZE you've got to help me!". There's only so many people I can bribe with cookies & crocheted items!

Catching up with online friends in rl is awesome. I haven't had much of a chance to meet many other bloggers since I started my own though, because it seems that 98% of the Aussie bloggeresses are in Melbourne. Hope you have fun!
