BLOG
Okay, so they say that time flies when you're having bucket loads of fun, but HOLY HOLIDAYS! Nobody warned me that when you're travelling, it practically zooms by on a private jet! Where has this week disappeared to?! Forgive me for my lateness!
Presenting, the most exquisite moments from the week that was! (On a Saturday! Oops!)
x Exploring London - London, you glorious dame! Where shall I even begin with you?! Your Big Ben! Your Tower Of London! Your Tower Bridge, London Eye, beautifully-easy-to-navigate train systems, intoxicating aroma (seriously, has anybody else ever noticed that everywhere in Europe seems to have this oddly sweet scent?! My boyfriend insists that it's the not-so-delightful smell of 'smog', but psh! I disagree!), luscious restaurants and cafes`, amazingly friendly people (with wicked senses of humour!), fascinating architecture, and endless choices! Honestly, I think it would be impossible to have anything BUT a superb time in London, because everywhere you look, there's something to do, and an interesting sight to marvel at! London, you've been a wonderful host, and I can't wait to spend some more time with you soon! (Tomorrow is all about Harrod's and peering at the last house that Queen's Freddie Mercury resided in!)
x Empty Planes – YES! Strangely, there was virtually nobody on either our flight from Sydney to Dubai OR Dubai to London, which was madness, but DIVINE madness, because since the plane was so empty, almost everybody decided to move from their allocated seat into the middle rows or to another one, resulting in the entire two rows in front of us being empty! You can’t not take advantage of that! My boyfriend and I ended up moving so that we both had a full row of three seats to ourselves to recline in, and I swear, if you closed your eyes, you could almost fool yourself into thinking that you were sleeping in one of the business class chairs! Almost!

x The Portobello Markets - These deserve a mention of their own because my goodness, they are INSANE! For starters, there's the large volume of people which flock to them each time (there were thousands of people there today!), but it's the assortment of cupcakes, second-hand, new and vintage clothing and jewellery, antiques, live music and mouthwatering food stalls stretching across a myriad of roads as far as the eye can see which REALLY defy belief: it's like a smorgasboard for the senses, there's so much to see and whiff and take in!

One of the many food stalls at The Portobello Markets!

My purchase of the day: it's a necklace, AND a bottle opener. Win!

Just for Ani: The All Hallows Church (where she used to work; don't worry, I said hello to it for you, Ani!) next to The Tower Of London!

x Other Little Things – Tom, for being such an excellent, silly travel companion, reciting lame quotes with me, singing stupid songs, and for being so brilliantly relaxed about his first overseas flight (the first of which was 14 hours and the second of which was 7 hours, no less!); Emitates’ delicious vegetarian meals (a spinach, potato and lentil curry, complete with kaffir lime leaves and warmed chapatti bread? Scrumptious!); flying over the Sydney skyline (I’m not sure if it’s because I’m originally from New Zealand, but I always have so much appreciation for the sight of it!); buffet breakfasts; pub lunches; aimlessly strolling around but somehow winding up exactly where we wanted to be each time; exhausted feet and calves from endless city-combing (this has been the case each day!); hotel rooms with free wifi; curry anticipation, foreign accents; successfully reading a map; being asked for directions TWICE and actually being able to be useful!; and leaving for Amsterdam on MONDAY! Argh!
♥
Happy weekend to you! How was your week?
xoxo

Anisha - Aw, you are SO welcome Ani, haha! It looked like it would've been an incredible place to work, we took a peek and went downstairs into the crypt and everything! And thanks for the recommendation about The Hard Rock, I will definitely try and stop by there on my way back! And yes, free wifi at the hotel! I couldn't believe the luck of it either, but then again, almost every single bar/restaurant we've entered HAS had free wifi, and this hotel is actually on top of a bar/restaurant!
Ella - Do, do, do! It IS amazing!
Kez - Aw, thank-you Kez! I actually feel like the world's naughtiest blogger because I haven't been keeping up with the blogging anywhere NEAR as much as I usually do/would, but gosh, it sure is difficult to do when there's such a big city waiting outside to be explored! I'm trying my best though, so thank-you very much! :)

Ok, I'm convinced, I need to go to London. It looks amazing!

YOU ARE MY FAVOURITE PERSON IN THE WOLRD right now, Corrine!
I love All Hallows so much and I spent many, many delightful hours sitting in the office located just on the other side of that clock!
You are absolutely right - with all that history and so many different stories to tell on every street corner, London is one of those amazing places you can never tire of!
All of the spots you mentioned bring forth so many great memories!
One more fun thing to do in London: Hard Rock Cafe & Hard Rock store with the downstairs vault - I don't remember everybody but they do have one of Kurt Cobain's guitars on display and you can ask a shop assistant and have it handed to you to take pictures and stuff :)
It seems like you're massively enjoying yourselves - and whut? Free wifi at the hotel? My hotels always want horrible amounts of money for any sort of internet connection!
