Contiki 'European Discovery' Tour: Dec 08 - Jan 09, Part Three! ♥

This is it!

The final piece of my three part Contiki series! 

x Day Nine - Paris, France

After an epic drive from Switzerland, we arrived in Paris at approximately 9.30PM. Everyone was EXTREMELY tired, but we had the opportunity to either step off the coach and visit the Eiffel Tower at night, or return to the hotel for some quality shut-eye. Despite mass exhaustion, I couldn't summon one good reason not to head into the Parisian air, so we went exploring! First stop? The Eiffel Tower, of course! We arrived there at around 10.00PM and it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g; the lights lit up while we were on the third level, and it was magical! The view was incredible, and it was at that very moment that I fell in love with Paris.

x Day Ten - Paris, France

A trip to Paris isn't complete without a visit to the Louvre, right?! Oh, no! After spending an hour visiting a French perfumery to learn about how fragrances are created, we visited the home of The Mona Lisa, and wow, the museum is absolutely huge. Our Tour Manager estimated that if you were to stop in front of every single piece of art work there, even just for a minute, it would take you nine months to view everything! Unfortunately, as we only had a day, we had to keep our trip super-short. Upon departing the Louvre, we strolled to the Eiffel Tower to experience it by day, before heading to the Latin Quarter for shopping and pizza! (Not so Parisian, but totally delicious!) And to celebrate the end of a fantastic day? Well, after many hotel room drinking games, our group headed to a nightclub next to the infamous Moulin Rouge, where we stayed until 4AM Best way to end our stay in France!

x Day Eleven - London, United Kingdom

This was the last official day of the tour, *sob*! We spent several hours on the coach, before catching a ferry to Dover, and then entering London early evening. Since it was our last night together, a large group of us headed out five pound hamburgers to a bar called, what else, The London Pub! 

x Day Twelve - London, United Kingdom

Since I was flying back to Sydney that night (well, after a three hour stopover in Hong Kong, that is!), I called upon an express sightseeing tour of London! We had approximately six hours to do so, so we visited The Camden Markets (or, as I will forever be calling it, HEAVEN!), The Tower Bridge, The Tower Of London and Trafalgar Square - squint hard enough in the second picture, and you can even see Big Ben! Before commencing the Contiki tour, I had already fallen head over heels for London, but after today? Oh yes, it was full blown! I'm not entirely sure what it was, but it really, REALLY resonated with me. I am very much fixated with the idea of moving there at the end of the year!
