Bloggers Say: Wear Sunglasses! Predicting 2011 Trends In Sunglasses ♥

It’s not every day that you’re invited to participate in a sunglasses campaign!

It’s also not every day that you wash the dishes and realise that you accidentally scrubbed them with your dog’s towel (ugh!), but that’s reeeaally a story for another time.

When the lovely folk at Mister Spex contacted me about their ‘Bloggers Say: Wear Sunglasses’ project and asked me to discuss upcoming trends in sunglasses, well goodness, how could I REFUSE?!

In the interest of not sounding like an enormous turkey (because really, doesn’t how you react to certain situations sort of denote how much of a pork chop you are?! Nobody likes having a conversation with Boasty McBoast Boast!), I’ll spare you the ‘’@*&^! MY NEW SUNGLASSES!’’ spiel, but let’s take a peek at what’s expected to cause a commotion on the style scene this year!

Word on the street is that round, John Lennon-style spectacles are set to be H-UGE in 2011, and who could resist this fun little rock and roll number from Ray Ban?

Oh, I know. Aviators? A groundbreaking TREND?! No. But at £39, these beauties are an absolute steal!

If the catwalks of Anna Sui and Lanvin are anything to go by, everyone and their pet iguana (what, you don't own a pet iguana?!) will be donning playful, colourful spectacles this summer, and these particular pairs are printed perfection!

Feline frames are hardly new (just ask Dita Von Teese!), but thanks to likes of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, they’re likely to make one big comeback!

When it comes to rocking zee frames (sorry, the temptation to communicate in a woeful French accent sometimes overpowers me!), what’s YOUR personal style? Do you regularly switch your peeper protectors up, or opt for one trusty set of shades?

xoxo

I'm all about wayfarer-style sunglasses. I don't care if they're not trendy any more, they suit me! I do have some lovely flower print ones, so at least I'm vaguely fashionable!

I LOVE sunglasses so I'm always switching them. I have a big red box o' sunnies by the door! my favourites at the moment are these cream patterned vintage mary quant ones, they're very big and sixties. well all my sunglasses are sixties-ish. another favourite pair are pinkish-red transparent plastic frames (kinda square shaped) with pinky lenses. got them at a flea market in NY for $5! I have so many that I love.

Also, see those D&G turquoise and black sunnies? I had big hairclips with that EXACT pattern when I was about 12. I thought they were awesome.

I have a growing collection of heart-shaped "Lolita" style sunglasses. I like them because they wear over my regular glasses and I don't have to switch to contacts like I do if I'm going to wear my fancy designer sunglasses

Oooo you are the cutest and I love your captions n_n. As for the sunglasses, I'm a wayfarer girl through and through (I have black ones, white ones and sparkly silver zebra striped ones, yes I do n_n).
