If a recent glimpse at the calendar lead to thoughts such as ''sweet merciful crap, it's August in a WEEK?! Where has the year gone?!'', or on a less dramatic scale, surprise, it may be an excellent time to review your 2009 goals, and plot how to conquer the remaining four months of the year!
After reviewing my annual resolutions, I decided to chart my progress, and offer a verdict on each initial aspiration..
The Resolutions.. (As originally posted last year on my former website, Miss Corrine!)
#1: x Study, Study, Study! - Y-E-S! In January, I am enrolling to complete a Certificate IV course in Media & Communications at TAFE, and I can't wait! It's a six month program and after finishing it, I plan to commence a Diploma in the same subject. What comes next? Who knows! I can either further my study and apply for university, completing a Bachelor Of Arts in Media & Communications there (and since I would have studied a lot of the units at TAFE, I won't have to do the full three years, oh happy days!) , or re-enter the shiny magazine world.. I'm not sure yet, but I'm excited!
The Verdict: Success! I've just completed my Certificate IV course, and have now commenced the Diploma. So far, so good..
#2: x Completely Re-Design Miss Corrine - This is high on my list of priorities! Seriously, it's the sort of thing that keeps me awake until 4am - I think about it all the time! I really feel it needs a more professional, polished look, and as more and more of you lovely creatures stumble across it each day (thank-you!) , I especially feel a sense of urgency to make it as fabulous as possible! The only problem? I know absolutely nothing about web design, or html/css coding - (therefore, customising a Wordpress theme is out for me!) so I am beginning to accept the fact that I may have to pay someone else to do this. If any of you clever cupcakes are guru-like with either of these, and would like a project (for a non-astronomical fee!), please e-mail me - I would love to hear from you!
The Verdict: Goodbye Miss Corrine, hello Frock & Roll! After dreaming up a new website, with a brand new name and location, I can safely tick this one off the list..

# 3: x Refine My Personal Style - What does this mean? Well, that I want to make 2009 my most stylish year ever, haha! For me, this involves making wiser purchasing choices, truly thinking about what I put on each day and taking my personal grooming up a notch! The inspiration? Nubby Twiglet! (Above.) I think she is quite possibly one of the most stylish people on the entire planet. Her fashion sense is impeccable and her make-up is the epitome of flawless - it's hard to imagine that the girl ever has a hair out of place! While Nubby's extreme chicness may be slightly unattainable for me (I uh, find it difficult to wear a piece of white clothing for longer than 15 minutes without spilling something on it!), it is certainly something to aspire to!
The Verdict: Being able to wear a piece of white clothing for longer than 15 minutes without spilling something on it? Forgetaboutit. Improving my sartorial state? An eternal work in progress..!
#4: x Become A Brace- Face - And now for something completely different.. that's right! It's of the utmost importance! I was really hoping that I would have had them put on by the end of this year, but after spending the bulk of my savings on an upcoming holiday in Europe (how could I resist?!), my plans for braces have now been postponed to early next year - I'm aiming for March! How will I make these a reality? Old-fashioned hard work! I've tightened my budget, and am saving as much as I can!
The Verdict: *insert losing buzzer sound here*. While I've saved up my pennies, March has come and gone, and there are no braces in sight.. add the fact that I'm feverishly lusting over returning to Europe next year, and you have what will probably be a metal-free mouth for a whole other year! (Not that this is drastically negative in ALL ways.. )
#5: x And finally.. TRAVEL! Oh, most definitely. The Blog World Expo in Las Vegas is calling my name, as is New Zealand - my last visit was in 2004, and since my sister returned there in August, the need for a trip to my home country is INTENSE!
The Verdict: While The Blog World Expo is out (boo!), New Zealand is definitely IN, as I'm holidaying there in September, hooray!
♥
How has your 2009 transpired? Have your dreams been fulfilled, and most importantly, what changes do you want to implement to successfully accomplish your remaining ambitions? (Or, did you do what I've done almost every other year, and completely abandon your resolutions on day two?!)
xoxo

Oh God! New Year's Resolutions... I don't really make them because we are a weird family that doesn't do anything for New Year's but I do set up little goals each year.
+Keep my scholarship: After losing it on May 2008 I went scholarship-less for the August-December semester. It was tough because with tuition the way it was and my trip to San Francisco, I pretty much emptied Daddy's bank account. Still I managed to get it back for 2009 and it's still there! I just need to make it through other two semesters.
+Get a job: I received some offers but I didn't like them. Instead I'm going to stay a freelancer (available for hire!! I specialize in WordPress themes n_n).
Lose Weight: I can call this one a success, while I'm not model thin (I can't because of my derailed ribcage and complexion) some of my dresses are too big for me to wear now and clothes I didn't wear before because they were too tight, now fit me perfectly.
+Exercise: HELLO LONGS WALKS IN THE PARK! The park also has an outdoor gym which is awesome so I can do my cardio and then cool off with some nice exercise. Bonus: See some of my boys showing off in the weights area :P. My boys have nice bodies n_n.
Re-design Hot Mess: Successfully completed! With the new theme and header it's looking the best it's looked in years! I really love it and I'm totally biased because I made it but still. HM is my pride and joy n_n.

Angela See, Angela Blog - What? Lose weight? From WHERE? :p I don't think so, missy, you have a gorgeous figure!
5ft0 -Those are fantastic accomplishments. The only muscles that are toned on me are probably my mouth and cheeks as well! :p

Wow, I never make a resolution - just because I know I'll break it within 24 hours into the New Year. Though there are some things I have accomplished:
- Start up a blog: I'm sure there will be people who'll be interested in things such as media, fashion and law right?
- Study: I figured I'll stay at home, do my uni notes and get a decent grade. Though going out with friends for a drink does sound tempting.
- Exercise: I've recently taken up bike riding and discovered I didn't know exist. I also realised the only toned muscles in my body are my mouth and cheeks. Ho hum.
Great work in sticking with your resolution! Have a lovely week!

Oh gosh I've pretty much completely forgotten about my NY resolutions!
"- Be a nicer person
- Lose weight
- Start selling my designs online
- Enjoy my trip to china
- Try harder at school
- Not to impulse buy
- Try and make at least 60% of my daily wardrobe
- Go to a blogger meet up
- Hopefully get a cliché ‘Melbourne High boyfriend’ (it’s a part of the ‘Mac.Rob girl package’ right?)
- Try and find a healthy balance between school and social life.
"
Well I've done most of them, except for selling my designs, getting a BF and losing weight aahha!
Good on you for sticking with yours!
Thanks for the lovely comment BTW
